An Australian lawyer by training, Julia worked for almost 8 years both in private practice and inhouse in Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore before leaving the profession to become a legal recruiter.
Julia recruited at a senior level in Sydney and moved to Singapore in 2004 where she headed the Singapore office of a leading recruitment company. She then established JLegal in 2007 and has continued to successfully place lawyers locally and internationally. Her track record includes placing lawyers at all levels into leading UK, US and Australian law firms, and junior counsel right up to General Counsel in leading MNCs.
As someone who has worked as a lawyer before, Julia brings an intimate understanding of the profession to both the client and candidate. In addition, as a lawyer who has previously undergone the job-hunting process herself, she understands the importance of having good career guidance and advice, and is always available to provide this to candidates. Joseph commenced his career as a corporate lawyer for Westpac Bank before moving into the field of legal recruitment, where he has successfully established himself as a pre-eminent in-house recruiter.
Joseph recruits lawyers at all levels for corporations, law firms and Government. He consults to his clients regarding market trends, and the remuneration and benefits of their lawyers. In addition, Joseph undertakes senior level search assignments, advising clients on mergers, strategic partner recruitment, legal department structurings and team management.
Joseph serves on a number of boards and committees in both legal and non-legal areas. He served on the board of the Australian Corporate Lawyers Association (NSW) and still remains a member to this day.

Fred holds an LLB from Keele University, did his Bar Vocational course at City University and was called to the Bar in 2003. After practising as a lawyer within an insurance firm, Fred decided to expand his business skills and in 2007 made a strategic move into the recruitment industry.
In 2010, Fred joined JLegal London and became an integral part of the UK team. He gained considerable experience in placing lawyers in private practice and has worked closely with many of the world’s leading law firms, most of which have a presence in Asia. In addition to working with London clients and candidates, Fred has a track record of successfully placing candidates in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Brazil.
Fred works in a consultative manner and enjoys building long term relationships with candidates and clients.
In 2012, Fred relocated to the Singapore office to head the private practice desk and brings a wealth of experience as a recruitment consultant specialising in private practice roles.
Fred enjoys tormenting his colleagues with highly improbable moral dilemmas and relaxes outside of work by catching up with friends over a soccer game.

Lyndel has worked within the recruitment industry in Singapore and Australia in researching, recruiting, HR and administrative functions, the majority of that time having been spent living in Singapore. Her recruitment industry experience covers a broad range of industries but since 2007 she has focussed on the legal industry.
Lyndel joined JLegal in 2012 initially as a Researcher, supporting both our private practice and in-house teams and subsequently as Business Support Manager, covering a wide variety of marketing and operational support activities.
Lyndel holds a Bachelor of Business in addition to a Diploma in Share Trading.
After nearly 15 years in Singapore, Lyndel is currently based in Australia where spends her time wistfully wishing she could just run down the street for her favourite popiah, laksa and char kway teow.

Judy Chiang has over 13 years’ experience working in the legal recruitment industry and during that time has developed an in-depth knowledge of the regulations and administrative requirements involved. Prior to her move to the recruitment industry, Judy acquired a wide range of organisational and managerial skills working in her family business.
Judy joined JLegal when it was founded in 1997 and has continued to contribute her substantial organisational and administrative skills to overseeing the operations of the Singapore office. In addition, Judy speaks Mandarin and Cantonese.
When she is not busy at work or on her travels, she is kept happy by her two adorable but mischievous cats, Pumpkin & Patches.

Clinton is a researcher based in the Singapore office, supporting the consultants in JLegal. He advocates for an honest, sincere, and genuine methodology underpinned by a strong belief in building long-term, trusting relationships with both clients and candidates.
Clinton graduated with a double major in Psychology and Business Strategic Management from Singapore Management University. Certain key research interests include Subjective Well-being, Poverty, Cognitive Psychology, and Ethics Philosophy.
Prior to joining JLegal, Clinton interned and worked as a research associate, providing insights into potential candidates. He takes on an entrepreneurial and creative mindset, as illustrated in mapping new markets such as New York and China in his previous work experience.
Clinton devotes much of his spare time volunteering for causes he is passionate about. He also enjoys a game of soccer, trekking, and travelling. Added to his impressive skill set, Clinton speaks four languages – English, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese, and basic Spanish.
